Alice Ramos has a PhD in Social Sciences from Instituto de Ciências Sociais-Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-ULisboa), with the thesis «Human Values and Opposition towards Immigration in Europe», where she analyses the impact of individual factors and social contexts on attitudes towards immigrants, on threat perceptions and on racial prejudice.
Currently, she is research fellow at the ICS-ULisboa. Her research interests are on the intersection of two lines of study: a) the impact of the articulation between individual factors (values and attitudes) and social structures on the development of discriminatory attitudes and prejudice, in a multilevel perspective; b) methodologies of trans-national and longitudinal studies. She recently started a line of research on the development of values and discriminatory attitudes in childhood and adolescence.
She is National Coordinator of the European Social Survey-ERIC and the European Values Study. At ICS-ULisboa, in 2009, she was co-founder of the Summer School on Advanced Methods in Data Analysis; between 2021 and 2023 she was a member of the Ethics Committee; currently, she is president of the Pedagogical Council and the Postgraduate Studies Committee.

Professor of Sociology at Princeton University. He has written 250 articles and chapters on national development, international migration, Latin American and Caribbean urbanisation and economic sociology. He has published multiple books, including City on the Edge – the Transformation of Miami (California 1993), co-authored with Alex Stepick and winner of the Robert Park Award for best book in urban sociology and the Anthony Leeds Award for best book in urban anthropology in 1995; Immigrant America: A Portrait, 3rd edition, (California 2006) was designated a Centennial Publication by the University of California Press in 1996.

Luís Aguiar-Conraria holds a BA from the University of Coimbra, an MA from the University of Porto, and a PhD from Cornell University.
He is president of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho, where he primarily teaches Macroeconomics and Quantitative Methods, and has also held various leadership positions.
Luís Aguiar-Conraria is the author of dozens of scientific articles, one book, and the co-author of two others.
His research covers economic cycles, political economy, wavelet applications in economics, among other subjects, and in 2011, he received the Gulbenkian Award for the Internationalisation of Social Sciences.

Isabel Horta Correia is currently a professor at the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics at UCP. She developed her research career for almost 30 years at the Economic Studies Department of the Banco de Portugal, which she directed for 5 years.
Her general area of interest is Macroeconomics, namely in the subareas of economic cycles, monetary economics, optimal fiscal and monetary policies, and redistributive impacts of economic policy.
Isabel’s work has been published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economics Studies, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Public Economics, and the European Economic Review.
She was a research reviewer for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and a member of the evaluation panels for the European Research Council's Advanced Grants. She was also a member of the European Economic Association Council; of the Portuguese Catholic University’s Scientific Society; of the Scientific Advisory Board of CREI – Centre de Recerca en Economia Internacional, and of the European University Institute's Research Council.
She is currently a correspondent for the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, and a research fellow at the Centre for Economic and Policy Research and the European Economic Association.

Ricardo Reis earned his Phd from Harvard, in 2004, and is currently a professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, and holder of the A.W. Phillips Chair.
His research in Macroeconomics and Finance was awarded the Carl Menger prize in 2022, the Yrjö Jahnsson medal in 2021, and the Bernácer prize in 2016.
Besides being an academic consultant at the Bank of England, the ESM and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, he directs the Centre for Macroeconomics in the UK, and is an advisor for multiple organisations. In Portugal, he writes weekly for the Expresso newspaper.
He currently resides in the city of London.

He is a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the Institute of Public Goods and Policies, CSIC, Madrid. He holds a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute in Florence. His research interests include representation, electoral systems, political parties, parliaments and coalitions.
His work has appeared in academic journals such as «The Journal of Politics», «Comparative Political Studies», «European Journal of Political Research», «Political Behaviour», «Legislative Studies Quarterly», «Party Politics», among many others. He is co-editor of the book «The Politics of Legislative Debates» (Oxford University Press, 2021). He has been a visiting researcher at the University of California and Harvard University.

He holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute in Florence.
He has had several articles published in scientific journals and book chapters published by Oxford University Press, Routledge and other publishing houses. He wrote the Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos essay «Politics and Entertainment» and co-coordinated, with João Cancela, the «Mechanisms and Impacts of Electoral Abstention» project promoted by the same institution.
