Full professor at the NOVA University of Lisbon. President of the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI) of the same institution.
He was director of the National Defence Institute (1996/2000). He served as minister of Internal Affairs (2000/2002) and minister of Defence (2006/2009) of the Portuguese government.
He was visiting professor at Georgetown University (2017/2019 and 2000), visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley (2004) and senior visiting scholar at the European University Institute, Florence (2010).
He has published works on military history, the history of international relations, the history of the European construction and issues of foreign policy, security and defence.

President of the Champalimaud Foundation since 2004, personally selected by founder António Champalimaud, she has a law degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon, where she was Assistant Professor. She has held various political positions. She was the second woman in the country to serve as a minister, acting as Minister of Health in the Cavaco Silva governments (1985–1990), in addition to serving as Secretary of State for Social Security (1983–1985) and holding the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (1982–1983).Founder of the PSD, a party in which she has held various leadership positions, she was a Member of Parliament between 1983 and 2005 and twice served as Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic. She was present at the founding of the Commission on the Status of Women, now the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality. She was one of the pioneering members of SEDES, one of the oldest national civic associations. She is a member of the Council of State and was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator by the President of the Republic. She was born in Porto.

Luís Bento has a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Modern Literature and a Master's degree in Communication Sciences.
He has worked as a teacher, in banking, in content moderation and in the pharmaceutical industry.
He has written several books of poetry, published short stories in collections and works with Meer magazine.
Nowadays, he juggles his literary work with his job as a consultant in an information technology company, under the scope of a banking project.

She holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Kent, UK. She is a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies and professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra.
Her research interests focus on peace studies, foreign policy, international security, the European Union and the post-Soviet space.
She was the coordinator of the Jean Monnet PRONE Centre of Excellence and holds a Jean Monnet Chair at the University of Coimbra.

Historian and professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University (FCH-UCP).
His research and teaching focus on contemporary Portuguese and international history in the political, institutional, social and cultural spheres, with over 150 books, chapters and academic articles to his name.
He is a lecturer at the UCP’s Institute for Political Studies, director of the Inter-University Doctoral Programme in History (PIUDHist) and a columnist and commentator on Rádio Renascença.

Researcher and university lecturer with a PhD in Digital Media from NOVA University Lisbon, in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin. With 15 years of experience as a reporter, her research focuses primarily on media literacy and journalism.
She occasionally collaborates with international organisations when conducting her research, such as the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Council of Europe.
