On 14 January in Brussels, the Foundation brought together MEPs, members of the European Commission, and representatives of other European institutions to discuss the challenges of combating forced labour, a form of exploitation affecting millions of people worldwide.

Around sixty people gathered at Press Club Brussels Europe for the presentation of the Foundation’s book Forced Labour.

The authors of the book – Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, Jorge Félix Cardoso, Miguel Bandeira Jerónimo and José Pedro Monteiro – were joined by Javier Martín Cerracín, from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade (DG TRADE), who discussed measures for eradicating this form of modern slavery.

Susana Frexes, Brussels correspondent for SIC and Expresso, moderated the debate.
