He holds a PhD, a Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Coimbra. Between 1998 and 2015, he was Lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
Since 2015, he has been Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra. He is also Permanent Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, where he has dedicated himself to researching international migration.
He also collaborates with various national and international agencies and institutions, such as the International Organisation for Migration, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the European Migration Network.
He has published over 100 articles and books on emigration and immigration in Portugal and Europe. In his most recent work, «Common Home» (2019), Pedro Góis notes that «migration flows to Portugal produce positive effects, mitigating, in the short term, the consequences of population ageing and decline» yet requiring long-term demographic planning, which has yet to be done.

Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Aveiro and at the GOVCOPP-UA Research Unit. He has a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Lisbon and conducts research in the fields of Networked Governance, Public Policy Processes, Public Sector Reforms and Local Innovation.

Professor of Global History at the University of Oxford, where he is Senior Research Fellow at Worcester College and Director of the Oxford Centre for Byzantine Research.
His primary area of expertise is the history of the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean, Russia, the Middle East, China and Central Asia. His research on the Crusades is considered one of the greatest contributions of this generation to a new way of understanding this topic.
His book, «The Silk Roads: A New History of the World», was named one of the 25 most influential books translated into Chinese and is a top-selling non-fiction book all over the world. He is also the author of «The New Silk Roads: The Present and Future of the World», already considered a map of the new geopolitical order and, more recently, «The Earth Transformed – An Untold History».

She got her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Lisbon Institute of Social Sciences, with research on gender relations and transformations in family life in Morocco. She has worked as a researcher on various projects on heritage and tourism in majority-Muslim countries.

Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI) at Nova University Lisbon and invited associate professor at the Nova School of Social and Human Sciences, where she teaches Asian Studies and History of International Relations.
She chaired the Portuguese Association of Political Science (2012-2016) and was a consultant to the Board of Directors of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2020-2022).
Author of several articles and books including «The Great Wall and the Legacy of Tiananmen, China and Human Rights» (Tinta-da-China) and «The Portuguese and the World» (Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos). She also wrote the introduction to the new translation of George Orwell's «Nineteen Eighty-Four» (Penguin).
She teamed up with Pedro Vieira for the podcast – [Ir] Relevant Politics, for Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, and the duo currently do the monthly podcast «Eleanor's Friends», for the Luso-American Development Foundation, with stories about extraordinary women, centered on the figure of Eleanor Roosevelt.
She is a resident international policy analyst on SIC Notícias.

He has a Bachelor’s degree and a Master's degree in Anthropology from the University of Coimbra (2008) and the University of Lisbon Institute of Social Sciences (2014). He is a PhD Researcher on the project COLOUR – The Colour of Labour: The Racialised Lives of Migrants, at the same institute, exploring areas of research at the crossroads between Science Studies and Anthropology.

Adjunct Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Federal University of Ceará, she teaches subjects in the Policy Management course and in the Postgraduate Programme in Public Policy Evaluation. She has a PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Ceará and a postdoctoral degree in Urban Sociology from the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra. She studies Urban Sociology with an emphasis on Requalification Processes, Urban Policies and Public Policy Evaluation. She currently participates in the Public Management Support Centre/NAGEP, part of the Sustainable Regional Development Laboratory – LEADERS, as coordinator of the Territorial Studies area.

President of the Champalimaud Foundation since 2004, personally selected by founder António Champalimaud, she has a law degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon, where she was Assistant Professor. She has held various political positions. She was the second woman in the country to serve as a minister, acting as Minister of Health in the Cavaco Silva governments (1985–1990), in addition to serving as Secretary of State for Social Security (1983–1985) and holding the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (1982–1983).Founder of the PSD, a party in which she has held various leadership positions, she was a Member of Parliament between 1983 and 2005 and twice served as Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic. She was present at the founding of the Commission on the Status of Women, now the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality. She was one of the pioneering members of SEDES, one of the oldest national civic associations. She is a member of the Council of State and was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator by the President of the Republic. She was born in Porto.
