He is part of the LanCog group at the University of Lisbon Philosophy Centre. Also at this university, he is a professor in the Philosophy Department at the School of Arts and Humanities, where he teaches Ethics, Modern Philosophy and Critical Thinking. He is the author of «From the Universe's Point of View», as well as articles in the area of Ethics. He organised the anthologies «Do Animals Have Rights?» and «The Ethics of Abortion».

Journalist, writer and commentator. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Russian History from Moscow State University (Lemonossov), where he went to live in 1977. He then devoted himself to the translation of literary and political works and in 1989 he began to report for TSF, having been the correspondent for the «Publico» newspaper in Moscow. He returned to Portugal in 2015. He is currently a commentator on SIC and SIC News, the «Observador» newspaper and Antena 1 radio. He has written several books, including «Russia and Europe: Part of the Whole», published by FFMS. He received the Order of Merit of the Portuguese Republic in 2013.

He has been a journalist since 1988 in the fields of the environment, science and data journalism. He is the author of the books "Sobre a Terra", an environmental guide, and "Nós no Mundo", about sustainability.

Alexandre Soares dos Santos was born in Porto in 1934 and died in Lisbon in August 2019. He attended the Lisbon Law Faculty and began working as a trainee manager at Unilever N.V. in 1957, having had internships in Germany and Ireland. This was the beginning of an international career at Unilever, which included working as Marketing Director for Unilever Brasil between 1964 and 1968. In 1968, he returned to Portugal to join the Board of Directors of Grupo Jerónimo Martins as Delegate-Director, before taking on the role of Chairman of the Executive Committee, which he held along with the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1996 to 2013. He was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation until his death.

He holds a PhD from Florida State University (USA) and is currently associate professor with habilitation and director of the department of Political Science at the School of Economics and Management and Political Science at the University of Minho.
He is a member of the Strategic Council of the National Institute of Administration and author of the essay Portuguese Civil Service, published by the Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos in 2019. He has published over thirty articles in international academic journals and was included in the «World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024» list.

She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP -UL), where she teaches a number subjects in the areas of Political Science and Comparative Politics. Her main nationally published works include 'The Portuguese Political System. A Comparative Perspective' (2017) and 'Semi-sovereign People: Political Parties and Parliamentary Recruitment' (2008).

Professor of Mathematics at the University of Coimbra. He was Secretary of State for Higher Education between 2011 and 2013, President of the Mathematics Centre at the University of Coimbra and a member of the board of the International Linear Algebra Society. He is an associate editor for three international mathematical research journals. He has written several articles and books on mathematical research, the history of mathematics and educational policies in Portugal.
