The Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos’ mission is now more vital than ever.
In a decade characterised by misinformation, fake news and increasingly polarised public debate — phenomena that threaten social cohesion and the quality of our democratic life — access to accurate and independent information has become crucial to making sense of the present and preparing for the future.
By producing and disseminating knowledge on the primary challenges facing Portugal, the Foundation has fostered clearer insights into the contemporary Portuguese context, thereby contributing to societal progress and improved public institutions. It will continue to do so with steadfast independence, full transparency and scientific rigour.
