Vincent Van Peteghem has been the deputy prime minister and minister of finance for Belgium since October 2020. Previously, he was a member of the Flemish Parliament where he served as a member of the commission of budget and finance and member of the commission of economy, work, social economics, science and innovation. From 2016 to 2019, Van Peteghem was a member of the chamber of representatives where he served in numerous areas. From 2011 to 2020 he was also a professor for operations management and head of pedagogical innovation at EDHEC Business School. Van Peteghem is the mayor of De Pinte in the province of East Flanders and he has a PhD in applied economics and a master’s degree in management of public organizations from Ghent University.
