Hugo Carvalho
Hugo Carvalho is an engineer and has built his career in the areas of innovation and technology, more recently venturing into the field of artificial intelligence. He was a member of the Portuguese parliament between 2019 and 2024. On the invitation of the government, he led the Taskforce for Licensing Renewable Energy Projects (EMER 2030). He was President of the Portuguese National Youth Council and a member of the Social and Economic Council and of the National Board of Education.

Gabriela Trevisan
PhD in Child Studies, specialising in Sociology of Childhood. Researcher at the Prochild CoLAB against Poverty and Social Exclusion. External consulting member of CIEC, University of Minho. Her research focuses on children's rights, participation, public policies with an emphasis on child poverty and children's relationship with urban space, among others. She is co-coordinator of the Sociology of Childhood section of the Portuguese Sociological Association and works with the child poverty working group in the Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN).

She is Associate Professor at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon, where she obtained her PhD in Economic and Organisational Sociology and coordinated the «Break Even» project (2014-2016), focused on promoting gender equality in companies.
She is currently coordinating the project «Women on Boards: An Integrative Approach», funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES).
She is a PhD researcher at the Centre for Research in Economic and Organisational Sociology, where she coordinates the Organisations, Work, Employment and Gender research line.
She was President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality in 2010, a body to which she remains attached as a member of the advisory board in her capacity as an expert in women's rights, non-discrimination and citizenship.
She coordinated the European Sociological Association’s research network «Gender Relations in the Labour Market and the Welfare State» and remains a member of the network's scientific committee. She has served on the board of the European Institute for Gender Equality, the European Union's High-Level Group on Gender Mainstreaming and the Economic and Social Council.

He is a graduate in the Science of Religions (with a specialisation in Religious Phenomena in European Literature), Philosophy and Portuguese Philology and got his PhD in the Science of Religions from the University of Tübingen. In recent years, he has worked both on modernism in Fernando Pessoa (particularly in relation to his theoretical writings) and on the theory of secularisation (particularly in Portugal).

Social psychologist and Eugene Higgins Professor at Princeton University, USA.
She has studied social cognition, an area of science dedicated to understanding how people understand the emotions, thoughts, intentions and social behaviours of others. She has mainly focused on understanding stereotypes and prejudices, including sexism or age-related prejudices, based on cultural, interpersonal and neuroscientific data.
She is the author of over 400 publications and has received numerous scientific awards, as well as being elected to the American Academy of Sciences.

A specialist in Political Economy and Public Economics, she got her PhD in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. She has been an associate professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) since 2004, where she was academic director of the doctoral and Master’s programmes in Economics. She has also taught at the Catholic University of Portugal, the University of Luxembourg and the Catholic University of Louvain. She is an associate researcher at CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research) and CORE (Centre for Operations Research and Econometrics) at the Catholic University of Louvain.
Between 2014 and 2017, she was an economic consultant at Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos.

Sociologist, PhD in Social Sciences, specialising in Development Sociology. He is an associate professor at the University of the Azores and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences (CICS.Nova.UAçores and CICS.UAc). His research focuses on the themes of poverty, the RSI and child poverty, among others. He is director of the Master's degree in Social Policies and Regional Dynamics and co-coordinator of the Poverty, Social Exclusion and Social Policies section of the Portuguese Sociological Association. He works with the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) and was a co-author of the Regional Strategy to Combat Poverty in the Azores. He is a member of the region's Economic and Social Council.

He has a PhD in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Coimbra. He is the author or coordinator of eight books on the Portuguese economy and has published articles in international scientific journals. He has worked as a consultant for public and private organisations, including the European Commission, the Portuguese Government, Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Court of Auditors, the Portuguese Business Confederation (CIP), the Portuguese Insurance Association and the Porto Commercial Association. He is a member of the panel of commentators on RTP3's 360º programme and works regularly with the media.

Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal and researcher. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Organisation and Management from ISCTE-IUL, a Master's degree in Sociology from ISCTE-IUL and is a PhD candidate in Management – Applied Decision Science at the University of Coimbra. She works with ISCSP-ULisboa on research in the field of Sociology. She researches and publishes in the areas of Marketing, Sociology and Retail.

Associate Professor at the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She began her research on poverty and social inequalities at the National Institute of Statistics in 1999 and got her PhD in Economics from the University of York in 2006, in the area of social inequalities in health, which she has also focused most of her research on since then.
