Miguel Morgado is an Assistant Professor at the Lisbon Catholic University Institute of Political Studies. He has a PhD in Political Science, a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Between 2011 and 2015, he was Political Advisor to the Prime Minister and member of Parliament between 2015-2019. He has written several articles and book chapters, as well as annotated translations of classic works of political theory, such as Montesquieu, Do Espírito das Leis (Edições 70, 2011), Francis Bacon, Nova Atlântida e a Grande Instauração (Edições 70, 2008), John Locke, Dois Tratados do Governo Civil (Edições 70, 2007), Leo Strauss, Direito Natural e História (Edições 70, 2009). Each of these Portuguese editions was introduced by an extensive interpretative essay. He is also the author of several monographs: Sovereignty. Of its Uses and Abuses in Political Life (Dom Quixote, 2021), O Conservadorismo do Futuro e outros ensaios (Edições 70, 2017), Autoridade (FFMS, 2010), A Aristocracia e os seus críticos (Edições 70, 2008). Together with Rui Ramos, he co-authored the collective work “Linhas Direitas. Política e Cultura à Direita” (Dom Quixote, 2019). Together with Hugo Chelo, he co-authored Histórias e Fragmentos da Arte Empresarial (Actual Editora, 2013). He also participated in the book by João Carlos Espada, Miguel Morgado, and Hugo Chelo, Riqueza e Pobreza (Principia, 2001).

Lawyer, Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he obtained his doctorate. He taught political science, constitutional law and fundamental rights at undergraduate and master's level, specialising in general administrative law and public procurement.
He was an advisor to the President of the Constitutional Court. He has published several books, including «The Constituent Constitution» (2000), «The Justification of Private Property in a Constitutional Democracy »(2008) and, co-authored with Pedro Múrias, «Same-Sex Marriage: Yes or No?» (2008), as well as several articles, mainly on constitutional law and political philosophy.

He got his PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam/Tinbergen Institute in 2007. He is currently Associate Professor at the University of Minho (U Minho) and Director of the PhD programme in Economics at the same institution. He is also a researcher at NIPE (UMinho), CIPES (UAveiro and UPorto) and the Institute of Labour Economics (IZA), Germany, and assists the Bank of Portugal on a permanent basis. His research focuses mainly on Labour and Education Economics and Applied Econometrics. He has written several academic papers, books and book chapters, and has been published in prestigious journals such as Econometrica, the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Regional Studies and Studies in Higher Education. His work has been cited, among others, in prestigious specialist journals such as Brookings Papers on Economic Activity, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, the Industrial and Labour Relations Review and Labour Economics. He maintains research collaborations in several countries, leading and integrating research teams that develop funded projects. He has authored policy-oriented reports on minimum wages, education and employment applicable to the Portuguese labour market. He also has extensive experience in consultancy for both private and public institutions.

She has published several books and articles, especially in the fields of Public Finance, Public Budgeting and Social Security.

Principal Investigator at the research unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy (GOVCOPP) at the University of Aveiro, where he coordinates the Public Policy, Institutions and Innovation (PI2) research group.
Before joining GOVCOPP in 2024, he was an assistant professorial research fellow for 10 years at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
He is also a Senior Associate in LSE Cities, an international centre that investigates the complexities of the contemporary city. His research focuses on the interdisciplinary area of urban governance. He has wide experience in the coordination of international projects on network and multilevel governance, planning, infrastructure, democratic and economic performance and sustainable urban development. These projects were funded by a number of public and private entities, including the Economic and Social Research Council, the British Academy, Bloomberg Philanthropies and Fondation Botnar.
He works regularly with multilateral organisations such as United Cities and Local Governments, Eurocities, Metropolis, UN-Habitat and Transparency International and he was a consultant for institutions like the World Bank and the European Committee of the Regions.
He gives lectures and organises international training courses in areas related to his research and consultancy work. He is a field editor for the Journal of Public Policy.

(1948-2017) With a Bachelor’s degree in Social Anthropology and a PhD in Sociology of Communication, Culture and Education, he was a university professor and researcher and published several articles. As a journalist, he headed newsrooms and coordinated Cenjor's General Training Course in Journalism for nearly two decades. An entrepreneur and manager, he was a communications consultant for Portuguese and international institutions.

She currently teaches and carries out research in Public Finance and Constitutional Law. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Catholic University of Lisbon School of Law. She is a researcher at the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law. She is a legal consultant. She wrote «Lições de Finanças Públicas e Direito Financeiro» (Public Finance and Financial Law Lessons) (Almedina, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2019), «A Despesa Pública Justa – Uma análise jurídico-constitucional do tema da Justiça na despesa pública» (Fair Public Expenditure – A legal and constitutional analysis of the issue of justice in public expenditure) (Almedina, 2016), «Contributo para a Compreensão das Garantias Institucionais» (Almedina, 2007) and co-author of «A Lei de Enquadramento Orçamental – Anotada e Comentada» (The Budgetary Framework Law – Annotated and Commented) (Almedina, 2007 and 2009).

Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations. She was Professor of Sociology at Nova University Lisbon and Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences (CICS.Nova – Nova FCSH). She has done research on international migration, paying particular attention to post-colonial flows and their effects on the inclusion of cities in global processes. She has been on several international teams and networks, including recent partnerships with the universities of Amsterdam, Milan, Princeton and Bahia.
