He holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University, he is a professor of Economics at Nova SBE and a researcher at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London.
His research focuses on a wide range of topics, going from the relationship between democracy and economic growth to the macroeconomic cost of gender discrimination and has been published in several academic journals, such as the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Public Economics, and in works published by Harvard University Press, MIT Press, Princeton University Press and Oxford University Press.
His academic work has been commented on in publications such as Time Magazine, The New York Times, Handelsblatt and La Repubblica, and discussed on specialised opinion article sites such as Vox.eu and Eurointelligence.
He was co-editor, with Francesco Caselli and Mário Centeno, of «After the Crisis: Reform, Recovery and Growth in Europe», and author of the essay «Europe Is Not a Foreign Country», a discussion on the past and future of Europe as an idea.

He has a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering (ISA-UTL), a Master's degree in Business Management and a PhD in Sociology (ISCTE-IUL). He was a researcher at NÚMENA and is currently an integrated researcher at the Centre for Research in Theology and Religion Studies (UCP). He works mainly on religious beliefs, practices and attitudes among young people.

Researcher on the project «Democracy in times of crisis: power and discourse in a three-level game» and on the V-Dem project: Varieties of Democracy. He has studied the processes of state formation, civil society and social policy from a comparative historical perspective.

Master's degree in Economics and Social Policy from ISEG-ULisboa (the University of Lisbon Higher Institute of Economics and Management) and PhD student in Gerontology at the University of Southampton. He currently works in the Office of the Secretary of State for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities. As a member of the GEP at the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, he was also a member of the Group of Experts on Demographic Issues. And he worked with the Social Policy Division and the OECD Group of Experts on Pensions.

He is professor of Fundamentals of Public Law and Fundamental Rights at the Católica Lisbon School of Law, where he was director between 2014 and 2022. He is a Bachelor’s degree, Master's degree and PhD from the same university.
He is an integrated member of the Catholic Research Centre for the Future of Law and he has done research on intergenerational justice and, more recently, on digital economy regulation, data protection and artificial intelligence.

He graduated and obtained his PhD in Economics from Nova University Lisbon, where he has taught since 1993. He has also taught at the Nova School of Business and Economics and the School of Law at Universidade Nova, in the areas of Portuguese and European Economics, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. João Amador has been an editor and author of book chapters on the Portuguese Economy and International Trade and has published articles in international scientific journals.

Sociologist, Senior Researcher at CESIS – Centro de Estudos para a Intervenção Social. Over the years, she has participated in numerous national and international research projects in the areas of poverty and social exclusion, social protection and social policies, among others. She currently represents Portugal in the European Network on Social Policy and in the team responsible for the Feasibility Study for the Creation of a European Guarantee for Vulnerable Children and is co-coordinator of the Poverty, Social Exclusion and Social Policies section of the Portuguese Sociological Association. She has co-authored around fifty publications.

Assistant professor in the Department of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism at the University of Aveiro and researcher at CIPES (Higher Education Policy Research Centre). He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Porto and a PhD in Business Sciences from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He works with GOVCOPP – Research Unit in Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies at the University of Aveiro and is an affiliate of the Global Labour Organisation. His research focuses on Labour Economics, Education and Higher Education.
