A journalist, he was Director of News at RTP and TVI, simultaneously editing and presenting Telejornal (RTP) and Jornal das 8 (TVI). He began his career in radio and, in 1992, was part of the team that founded the first private television station in Portugal, SIC, where he presented Jornal da Noite. He taught at the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social and co-coordinated the Postgraduate Course in Journalism at ISCTE/Media Capital. At the invitation of the President of the Republic, he inaugurated the programme «Journalists in Belém Palace» in 2018.

Professor and director of the Globalisation and Governance Centre (CG&G) at the Nova School of Business and Economics, he is a member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, the Royal Academy of Belgium and the Canadian Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). He taught at Yale and Princeton universities, Sciences Po university in Paris and the Catholic Universities in Portugal and Angola. He also served as President of the OECD Development Centre and the Tropical Scientific Research Institute (which includes the Tropical Botanical Garden). He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and is a researcher at the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS), UK. He is currently a consultant at the Centre for Prospective Studies and International Information (CEPII), Paris, and a Professor at the University Paris Dauphine-PSL. Previously, he was Deputy Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE) at the OECD. He has written several academic articles and OECD publications on trade and competition, productivity and growth, environmental issues, structural policy complementarities and regional policies.

He is a research economist in the Department of Economic Studies (area of structural studies) at the Bank of Portugal and a visiting assistant professor at the Catholic University of Portugal. He is a member of the research unit of CATÓLICA-LISBON, IZA – Institute for the Study of Labour, GLO – Global Labour Organisation and Iniciativa Educação. He has a PhD in Economics from UCL – University College London and was a short-term consultant at the Development Economics Research Group of the World Bank. His research topics include human capital, the economics of education, programme evaluation, the labour market, microeconometrics and economic development. He has published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including the International Economic Review, Labour Economics and the Journal of Population Economics.

He is an associate professor of international economics at the ESCP Business School in Berlin, Germany. His research focuses on international finance and macroeconomic policy. Previously, he was an assistant professor of economics at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University, California, USA. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. His articles have been published in academic journals such as the "Journal of Economic Psychology", the "Journal of Financial Economic Policy", "VoxEU", the "Journal of International Money and Finance" and "Kyklos".

Professor of Economics and holder of the Ford Chair at MIT. He is also Co-Director of the NBER Labor Studies Programme, the MIT Task Force on Work of the Future and the experimental JPAL Work of the Future Initiative. His research explores the impacts of the technological revolution and globalisation on the labour market, specifically job polarization, demands and skills, income levels and inequalities, and electoral outcomes. He has received several awards for his academic studies – the National Science Foundation's CAREER Award, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship, the Sherwin Rosen Award for Outstanding Contributions to Labor Economics, and the Andrew Carnegie Fellowship in 2019 – and also for his teaching, including the MIT MacVicar Faculty Fellowship. Most recently, Autor received the Heinz 25th Special Recognition Award from the Heinz Family Foundation for his contribution to «transforming our perception of how globalisation and the technological revolution are impacting the jobs and wage prospects of American workers.« In 2017, Bloomberg recognised him as one of the 50 people who have defined the world of business on a global scale. And in 2019, the Economist magazine labelled him «The academic voice of the American worker». Later that year, and with (at least) equal justification, he was dubbed the «Twerpy MIT Economist» by John Oliver of Last Week Tonight, in a segment on automation and employment.

Former governor of the Bank of Portugal. He was managing director of Milleninum BCP (2000-2004), director of Caixa Geral de Depósitos (2004-2006) and vice-president of the EIB (2006-2010).

Bruno Cardoso Reis holds a PhD in War Studies from King's College and a Master’s degree in Contemporary History from the University of Lisbon School of Arts and Humanities. He was deputy director of the Centre for International Studies at Iscte-IUL, where he teaches and directs the PhD in History and Security and Defence Studies, in partnership with the Military Academy. He was deputy to the Minister of National Defence (2019-2022). He was a guest professor at the Institute of Political Studies at UCP and, in the 2024-25 academic year, he was a FLAD guest professor at Georgetown University in Washington, where he's currently a non-resident researcher. He has published several articles and books, including the essay "Can Portugal have a Strategy?" (2019) published by Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos.

Visiting Professor at the Graduate Center, City University of NY and Senior Scholar at LIS. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Belgrade with a dissertation on income inequality in Yugoslavia. He was Senior Economist in the Research Department of the World Bank for almost 20 years and was Senior Advisor at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (2003-2005). He has taught at the University of Maryland (2007-2013) and Johns Hopkins University (1997-2007).

Leads the Foundation's Digital & Social Content Management team.
She coordinated the Digital Area and the Fronteiras XXI project, with a monthly debate program in a partnership with RTP, the national Portuguese television.
Graduated in Social and Cultural Communication from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Joana Ferreira da Costa was a journalist between 1997 and 2016. She worked for 11 years at the daily newspaper «Público» writing about Science, Health Policies and Politics, having been a resident's reporter at Parliament. She then worked as a sub-editor at «Diário de Notícias» and at weekly newspaper «Sol».
