This cooperative was founded in 1978 in Porto by a group of «friends», some connected to fine arts and architecture, concerned about the lack of quality housing at fair prices for large sectors of the Portuguese population.

Geographer, holding a PhD in Geography and Territorial Planning from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (NOVA FCSH) of the New University of Lisbon. He is Professor at NOVA FCSH, Coordinator of the Department of Geography and Regional Planning and Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA).
His research focuses on housing policies, real estate market dynamics, urban public policies, urban geography, spatial planning and urban studies. He has published various studies in these fields, in addition to conducting diverse knowledge dissemination activities, such as coordinating scientific projects and curating exhibitions.

Miguel Bandeira Jerónimo is an associate professor of History at the University of Coimbra Centre for the History of Society and Culture. His research interests focus on the global, connected and comparative history of imperialism and of colonialism (19th-20th century).
Miguel publishes regularly in the foremost publishers and journals, both in Portugal and abroad. He recently co-authored «História(s) do Presente» (2020, Tinta-da-China) and coordinated «Os Mundos do (Sub)Desenvolvimento» (2023, Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra).
He has a PhD in History from King’s College London.

An economist with a master's degree in quantitative methods (Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, FEP-UP), he launched and coordinated the National Statistics Institute's Construction and Housing Price Indicator System. He is Director of Confidencial Imobiliário, where he oversees statistical production. He is a guest expert on several postgraduate real estate courses, including at Lisbon School of Management and Economics (ISEG) and Porto Business School (EGP-PBS). He was an advisor to the President of the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industrialists (AICCOPN).

She has a degree in psychology from the University of Lisbon's FPCE, studied film studies at Lisbon's ESTC, worked for RTP and, as a director for SIC, attended a BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) course in TV Production.
She was a director for SIC from 1992 to 2002. Between 2002 and 2003 she completed the Advanced Programme in Political Journalism at the Institute of Political Studies of the Catholic University of Lisbon. From 2004 to 2008, she was a documentaries advisor to RTP's Programme Direction. In March 2018, she unanimously received her PhD in contemporary history, specialising in empires, colonialism and post-colonialism, earning a distinction and praise for her work. In 2007, she was awarded the Lusophony Grand Prize for the documentary «The Prodigious Writer», a film about the life of Jorge de Sena, which she wrote and directed. In 2018 she was awarded the Fernando de Sousa prize by the European Commission for her work directing and co-authoring the screenplay for the 6-film documentary series Europa 30, shown on RTP2. In 2021 she premiered the documentary «Visions of Empire» at the DocLisboa festival, which she also directed and wrote.

His TED Talk on the future of work has been viewed over 1.6 million times.
