Graduated in Marine Biology from Lisbon Classic University, in 1986, with executive education at IMD (1995) and Harvard (1997), and Alumni Member of Stanford (2000). Executive President of Sociedade Francisco Manuel dos Santos B.V., the main shareholder of Jerónimo Martins, SGPS, S.A., since its establishment in 2012. Member of the Board of Directors of Jerónimo Martins SGPS, S.A. from 1995 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2015. He is a Non-Executive Director of the Company since April 2019. Chairman of Unilever Fima, Lda., Gallo Worldwide, Lda., JMDB Representação e Distribuição de Marcas Lda. and miMed, Cuidados de Saúde S.A. Chairman of Movendo Capital B.V., since 2017. Since May 2020, he is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, of which he was a Board Member from 2009 to 2018. Since September 2015, he is the Chairman of Oceanário de Lisboa, S.A., and, since December 2016, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Oceano Azul Foundation.

He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester, USA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Portugal. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania. He is an associate professor at the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, where he has devoted himself to teaching and research in the areas of public economy, social policies and health economics, seeking to create theories of practical application.

Professor Charles Boxer at King’s College London. He has a PhD from the European University Institute, taught at Nova University Lisbon and he was director of the National Library and director of the Gulbenkian Cultural Centre in Paris. Among his monographs, we highlight «Racism from the crusades to the 20th century» and «History of Inquisitions», published by Círculo de Leitores in English, French, Italian and Spanish versions.

He is an architect and historian of architecture and cities, professor at the University of Évora Department of Architecture. He has published books and articles on architecture and national and regional identities, multifamily housing, public architecture and the production, circulation and exchange of architectural knowledge and architectural cultures in bureaucracy (21st and 20th centuries). He coordinated the project «Housing: One Hundred Years of Public Policy in Portugal, 1918-2018».

Film critic, screenwriter, director and manager of the Cinema area for Guimarães 2012 – European Capital of Culture. He is a professor at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School and wrote for Seara Nova and Cinéfilo magazines and the A Luta and Expresso newspapers. He currently works with the Diário de Notícias newspaper.

Manuel António Garcia Braga da Cruz was born in Tadim, Braga in 1946. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (UCP, Braga) and Sociology (Gregorian University, Rome). He got his PhD and went into Political Sociology (ISCTE, Lisbon). He was a researcher at the University of Lisbon Institute of Social Sciences (1977-2000), where he also directed the Social Analysis magazine (1987-1998). He has been Rector of the Catholic University of Portugal since 2000, where he has been a full professor since 1992. He was the founder and president of the Portuguese Association of Political Science. He is a member of the Portuguese Academy of History, the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, the Real Academia de la Historia de España and the Real Academia de Ciencias Politicas y Morales de Madrid. He is the author of the following works : The Origins of Christian Democracy and Salazarism (1980), Monarchists and Republicans in the Estado Novo (1986), the Party and the State in Salazarism (1988), Sociological Theories. The Founders and the Classics (1989). Political Institutions and Social Processes (1995), The Estado Novo and the Catholic Church (1998), Historical Transitions and Political Reforms in Portugal (1999), Castelo Rodrigo and Santa Maria de Aguiar (2006), Catholic University of Portugal. 40 years in the service of the Church and of Portugal (2009).

Sofia Aboim
Lead Researcher with a degree in sociology at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where she coordinates the «LIFE» research group and directs the journal «Análise Social». Her work focuses on sexualities and citizenship, social inequalities and the intersections between gender positions, in addition to areas such as critical masculinity studies.
She has a PhD from ISCTE and is Visiting Associate Professor in the university’s Department of Sociology. She also teaches on several doctoral programmes at ICS and the University of Lisbon: The Interuniversity Doctoral Programme in Sociology and the Doctoral Programme in Gender Studies.
She is a regular member of the European Research Council’s (ERC) evaluation panels.
She has published various academic articles. She is the co-author of two books and author of «The Sexuality of the Portuguese», published by the Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos.
