Full Professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics at Nova University Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the USA. He was Deputy Director of the Nova School of Business and Economics and coordinator of its research unit. His main area of research is Applied Econometrics and his work has been published in prestigious international journals. More recently he has been doing research in the area of the Economics of Education on topics such as the impact of the publication of school rankings, the developments in PISA results and student retention.
She holds a PhD in Geography and Spatial Planning and she is a principal investigator at the Centre for Geographical Studies and a professor at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning at the University of Lisbon. Her interests focus on sustainable urban development, regional, urban and local planning, urban geography and the evaluation of public policies. She has taught Public Policy Assessment Methodologies and Spatial Planning on undergraduate and Master’s degree courses.

She began her research on poverty and social inequalities at the National Institute of Statistics in 1999 and got her PhD in Economics from the University of York in 2006, in the area of social inequalities in health, which she has also focused most of her research on since then.

She researches gender equality, youth, drug addiction and longitudinal studies. She has presented papers at national and international conferences and published articles and books on these topics.
Visiting Assistant Professor at ISCSP-ULisboa, researcher and founding member of CIEG. His main interests are the sociology of the family, gender, intimate relationships and sexuality, and the planning and evaluation of policies in the field or with a gender impact. He participates in national and international research in these fields and is the author and co-author of articles and book chapters.
