Nuno Nunes
He has a PhD in Sociology and is an ISCTE professor and researcher. He is the coordinator of the Thematic Section on Classes, Inequalities and Public Policies of the Portuguese Sociological Association, a member of the Inequalities Observatory, deputy director of the Mundos Sociais publishing house, national advisor to the European Science programme Horizon Europe and scientific coordinator of the Observatory of Popular Clubs and Associations. He researches social inequalities, social classes, collective action, work, well-being, education, development, the welfare state, public policies, the digital society and artificial intelligence.

He is a PhD candidate in Comparative Politics at ICS-UL, with a Bachelor's degree in Social Science Data Analysis and a Master’s degree in Political Science from ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon. He is a research fellow at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology-ISCTE, within the scope of the PASSDA research infrastructure (2019-2020) – Production and Archive of Social Science Data/European Social Survey. His main research interests are comparative politics, the collapse of democracy, social inequalities and political participation.

She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Minho and a Master’s degree in Social Psychology from the University of Coimbra. She is a researcher at the Centre for Social Research and Intervention (CIS, ISCTE-IUL) and the Centre for Research in Economic and Organisational Sociology (SOCIUS/CSG – ISEG) at the University of Lisbon.
She is a member of the INHERIT team, a European project that aims to contribute to academic and social reflection on ageing, social inequalities and health, stimulating policies, practices and innovations that promote change in these areas.
In her PhD project, she focused on the health and well-being of the ageing population in Portugal and Europe. As a guest researcher, she worked with the Centre of Welfare Studies in Slovenia, the European Data Laboratory for Comparative Social Research and the Munich Centre for the Economics of Ageing, both in Germany. She was also involved in the European Education Policies project, focusing on the process of lifelong learning and developed by the Education and Development Research Unit at Nova University Lisbon. She also works with the Inequalities Observatory.

Rosário Mauritti
Sociologist, director of the Transversal Skills Laboratory (LCT-Iscte) and assistant professor at Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon, School of Sociology and Public Policy.
She is an integrated researcher and member of the Scientific Committee of CIES-Iscte; coordinator of the Inequalities, Work and Well-Being research group at CIES-Iscte; and a member of the Inequalities Observatory.
Throughout her career she has participated in project teams and scientific consultations on specifically sociological topics, such as social classes and social inequalities; characterisation of the living conditions and value orientations of higher education students; social change and lifestyles; ageing; well-being; the role of the State in promoting equity, among others.
She is CIES-Iscte's representative on the ESS/European Social Survey and a member of the Eurostudent research team.

Graduated in Communication and Journalism, with a postgraduate degree in Political Advising and Media. On her way to a master's degree in Political Science at ISCTE.

Master's degree in Economics and Social Policy from ISEG-ULisboa (the University of Lisbon Higher Institute of Economics and Management) and PhD student in Gerontology at the University of Southampton. He currently works in the Office of the Secretary of State for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities. As a member of the GEP at the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, he was also a member of the Group of Experts on Demographic Issues. And he worked with the Social Policy Division and the OECD Group of Experts on Pensions.

PhD in Development Studies from ISEG-ULisboa (University of Lisbon Higher Institute of Economics and Management). Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon. His research has focused on the study of the pension system in Portugal, particularly the impact of parametric and structural reforms on its sustainability.

Miguel Portela
He got his PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam/Tinbergen Institute in 2007. He is currently Associate Professor at the University of Minho (U Minho) and Director of the PhD programme in Economics at the same institution. He is also a researcher at NIPE (UMinho), CIPES (UAveiro and UPorto) and the Institute of Labour Economics (IZA), Germany, and assists the Bank of Portugal on a permanent basis. His research focuses mainly on Labour and Education Economics and Applied Econometrics. He has written several academic papers, books and book chapters, and has been published in prestigious journals such as Econometrica, the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Regional Studies and Studies in Higher Education. His work has been cited, among others, in prestigious specialist journals such as Brookings Papers on Economic Activity, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, the Industrial and Labour Relations Review and Labour Economics. He maintains research collaborations in several countries, leading and integrating research teams that develop funded projects. He has authored policy-oriented reports on minimum wages, education and employment applicable to the Portuguese labour market. He also has extensive experience in consultancy for both private and public institutions.
