Miguel Morgado is an Assistant Professor at the Lisbon Catholic University Institute of Political Studies. He has a PhD in Political Science, a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Between 2011 and 2015, he was Political Advisor to the Prime Minister and member of Parliament between 2015-2019. He has written several articles and book chapters, as well as annotated translations of classic works of political theory, such as Montesquieu, Do Espírito das Leis (Edições 70, 2011), Francis Bacon, Nova Atlântida e a Grande Instauração (Edições 70, 2008), John Locke, Dois Tratados do Governo Civil (Edições 70, 2007), Leo Strauss, Direito Natural e História (Edições 70, 2009). Each of these Portuguese editions was introduced by an extensive interpretative essay. He is also the author of several monographs: Sovereignty. Of its Uses and Abuses in Political Life (Dom Quixote, 2021), O Conservadorismo do Futuro e outros ensaios (Edições 70, 2017), Autoridade (FFMS, 2010), A Aristocracia e os seus críticos (Edições 70, 2008). Together with Rui Ramos, he co-authored the collective work “Linhas Direitas. Política e Cultura à Direita” (Dom Quixote, 2019). Together with Hugo Chelo, he co-authored Histórias e Fragmentos da Arte Empresarial (Actual Editora, 2013). He also participated in the book by João Carlos Espada, Miguel Morgado, and Hugo Chelo, Riqueza e Pobreza (Principia, 2001).

She is an Assistant Professor at the Catholic University of Lisbon School of Law, where she graduated and got her Master’s degree and PhD. She currently teaches and carries out research in Public Finance and Constitutional Law. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Catholic University of Lisbon School of Law. She is a researcher at the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law. She is a legal consultant. She wrote «Lições de Finanças Públicas e Direito Financeiro» (Public Finance and Financial Law Lessons) (Almedina, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2019), «A Despesa Pública Justa – Uma análise jurídico-constitucional do tema da Justiça na despesa pública» (Fair Public Expenditure – A legal and constitutional analysis of the issue of justice in public expenditure) (Almedina, 2016), «Contributo para a Compreensão das Garantias Institucionais» (Almedina, 2007) and co-author of «A Lei de Enquadramento Orçamental – Anotada e Comentada» (The Budgetary Framework Law – Annotated and Commented) (Almedina, 2007 and 2009).

With a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Lisbon School of Economics, he was a senior specialist in Budget and Public Finance at the Ministry of Finance and a visiting professor at the University of Lisbon Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences and the Lisbon School of Economics and Management in the areas of Public Economics and Public Finance. He was secretary-general of the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing and assistant to Ministers of Finance and the Minister of the Republic for the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Lisbon School of Law and a Master's degree in Law from the School of Human Sciences, now the Catholic University of Lisbon School of Law. Guest lecturer at this faculty (Lisbon School), co-coordinator of the postgraduate courses in Commercial Law and assistant coordinator of the Master’s degree in Business Law. Lawyer (legal consultant), author and co-author of several texts, articles and case law commentaries, lecture summaries and opinions, mainly in the area of Commercial Law. Former scholarship holder at DAAD and the Max Planck Institut in Munich (Industrial Property Law).

Assistant Professor at the Catholic University of Lisbon School of Law, where she graduated (1996), got her Master's degree (2004) and a PhD (2014). She is the coordinator of the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law. She was co-executive coordinator of the Catholic University of Portugal Arbitration Centre from 2013 to 2017. She has published and carried out research in the areas of Civil Law and Criminal Law, particularly in the areas of collision of rights, co-ownership of rights and franchising contracts.

Professor at the University of Lisbon School of Law. Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Porto School of Law. Researcher at the Public Law Research Centre (CIDP/ICJP). She writes on several areas of public law, particularly on environmental law, administrative law and administrative procedural law. She teaches Master’s and postgraduate courses in Environmental Law, Administrative Law and Energy Law in Angola, Mozambique and Brazil. She regularly assists in training courses at the Centre for Judicial Studies.

Assistant professor (since 2016) and coordinator of Constitutional Law at the Porto Catholic University of Lisbon School of Law. She is also the executive coordinator of the Master’s degree courses in Law (2022), scientific coordinator of the Master’s degree courses in Constitutionalism, Democracy and Human Rights and co-coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Degree in Human Rights.
She is a member of the Coordination Council of the «Academic Network on The European Social Charter and Social Rights» and co-editor of the series «Constitutionalism in Latin America and the Caribbean» (Hart Publishing).
She is a member of the International Society of Public Law and the International Association of Electoral Law. He received the Dean's Award for Excellence in Student Teaching from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (2010) and the Mancini Prize for the Best Academic Work in the Field of European Law and Legal Thought from Harvard Law School (2012). He was a consultant for the OECD (2003/04) and the Tropical Scientific Research Institute (2004/05). He was also a member of the Scientific Committee of the 3rd Present in the Future Meeting organised by Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos (2014). He carries out research in the areas of Legal Theory, Political Philosophy and the History of Legal Thought.
