An Ideia of Science
Nº149 MAY 2025
This essay is an apologia for science. From a collection of stories, it argues that the enormous success of science is both a blessing and a curse: it's tempting to prioritise instant applications over the search for knowledge in the long term.
It offers a description of the current challenges, from precariousness to artificial intelligence, and some ideas to improve the scientific ecosystem, both in Portugal and in a European context.
