She has a Bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a postgraduate degree in Marketing Management and Consumer Research from the Open University of Catalonia. She is a member of the PRM Market Intelligence team that produced the study "Women in Portugal today".

Associate professor in the Sociology Department at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and Researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte).
He is Director of the Inequalities Observatory and Scientific Coordinator of CoLABOR. As an author or organiser, he has published around 30 books, regularly writes articles in national and international journals and has received several scientific awards. His projects and research focus on social and territorial inequalities, job insecurity, unemployment, the welfare state, public policies, spatial mobility and social capital.

Emeritus Professor of Demography at the University of Oxford and Associate Researcher in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. He has a degree in zoology and biological anthropology from Queen's College, Oxford, and was a volunteer teacher in Nigeria before completing his PhD at the London School of Economics.

Full Professor at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the Technical University of Lisbon. She is Coordinator of the Demography course and the master's degrees in Risk Society and Health and Social Gerontology, on which she teaches various subjects. She also teaches classes in sociology and on the PhD in Social Policy. She has a degree in sociology, a Master's Degree in Demography and a PhD in Sociology from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In 2002, she obtained her Aggregate Degree in Sociology/Demography from the same Faculty. She is currently Director of the magazine Fórum Sociológico.

He is Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government. He was director of the World Bank's Research Development Department and has written for «The New York Times», the «Financial Times, the «Wall Street Journal» and the «Washington Post». He researches the causes and consequences of civil war, problems of democracy in low-income societies rich in natural resources, urbanisation in low-income countries and private investment in African infrastructure. In 2014, he received a knighthood for his services to promoting research and policy change in Africa.

She has a degree in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and a Master's Degree in Gerontology from the University of Social and Political Sciences of Grenoble, France. She has developed and coordinated various national programmes and projects aimed at the elderly population. She is President of the Portuguese Association of Psychogerontology, Vice-President of the Portuguese Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology and Council Member of the International Association of Geriatrics and Gerontology. She received the 2016 FEMINA Award – Outstanding Portuguese and Lusophone Women.
