He holds a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence and is an associate professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics. He has a Bachelor’s degree in History from Nova University Lisbon and a PhD in History and Civilisation from the European University Institute in Florence, specialising in Economic History. He has had books and scientific articles published by international publishing houses and magazines. He has also released books for the general public, such as "Economia Portuguesa", "As Últimas Décadas", in 2010, by Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, "Rica Vida", in 2014, or "Em Nome do Pai e do Filho...", in 2015, both published by D. Quixote Publications.
