Director of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) and a full professor and founding member and former president of the Observatory of Economics and Fraud Management (OBEGEF).
He is a member of the cef.UP research centre – Centre for Economics and Finance at the University of Porto.
He has published books, book chapters and over 140 articles in international scientific journals on economic growth – the subject of his PhD – and related topics, such as wage inequality, the unobserved economy, institutions and public finance.
He is currently president of the Municipal Assembly of Miranda do Douro.
