Carlos Jalali has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oxford, he teaches at the University of Aveiro (UA), where he also directs the master's degree in Political Science and the UA-UBI doctoral program in the same area.
President of the Portuguese Association of Political Science, he’s one of the main researchers in this area. He has dedicated himself mainly to the study of political institutions and party systems, political communication and electoral behavior in Portugal.
In Aveiro, he is also responsible for the research group on Public Policies, Institutions and Innovation of the Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies research unit.
He coordinates the project «European Elections in Change: the impact of adjustment programs in the Eurozone on European Parliament Election campaigns».
He published “Parties and Party Systems”, an essay by the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation (2017).
