Bio
He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oxford and teaches at the University of Aveiro (UA).
Since 2024, he has been the coordinator of the Research department at the Foundation and a scientific adviser to the Institutions department.
He was a visiting professor at Georgetown and Brown Universities in the United States in 2015 and 2022, and served as president of the Portuguese Political Science Association between 2016 and 2021.
A specialist in Portuguese and comparative politics, he has focused primarily on the study of political institutions and party systems, political communication and electoral behaviour in Portugal.
In 2017, he published «Parties and Party Systems», an essay for Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos.
