President of the Constitutional Court since February 2021. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Lisbon School of Law in 1973 – where he completed his Master’s degree (1986) and PhD(1994), and is a Full Professor at Nova School of Law. He has taught Administrative Law, Administration Science, Legislation Science, Legal Norm Theory, Comparative Public Law and other subjects at this school. He was Director of Nova School of Law between 2003 and 2009 and, until he took up his post at the Constitutional Court, was President of its Scientific Council. He was a member of the General Council of Nova University Lisbon between 2009 and 2013.
