Professor of Economics at the College of William and Mary, where he has taught since 1995. He holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Economics from Stanford University (1987). He works on public economics, particularly infrastructure, environmental policy and social security reform. He has published more than 90 articles in scientific journals, as well as eight books on topics related to the Portuguese economy.
