Graduated in Communication and Journalism, with a postgraduate degree in Political Advising and Media. On her way to a master's degree in Political Science at ISCTE.
She assumed the role of digital content manager at the Foundation in October 2023.
A political scientist, she is Director (since 2023) and Coordinating Researcher of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon. Since 2021, she has also been Editor of the European Political Science Review.
She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oxford (2001). She directs the Electoral Behaviour and Political Attitudes of the Portuguese project as well as an ERC project on the consequences of the politicisation of European issues on national politics.
She has published several books and articles on Portuguese attitudes towards Europe, voting behaviour and the functioning of political institutions in Portugal from a comparative perspective.
He has a PhD in Anthropology from ISCTE-IUL and is an emeritus researcher at the University of Lisbon Institute of Social Sciences. Among the topics to which he has devoted his attention are Portuguese rural society, family and kinship, nationalism, racism, social memory, the history of anthropology, food and cooking and epidemics (the «Spanish flu»). Among his publications, as author and editor, are the books: «Trajetos: o Passado e o Presente na Vida de uma Freguesia da Beira» (1999); with Jorge Vala, «Identidade Nacional, Inclusão e Exclusão Social» (2010); «Portugal, the Portuguese: A National Identity" (2012); with Nuno Domingos and Harry G. West, «Food between the Country and the City: Ethnographies of a Changing Global Foodscape» (2014); with Manuel Carlos Silva, «Ethnicity, Nationalism and Racism: Migration, Ethnic Minorities and School Contexts» (2015); «The Ethnography of Aquilino Ribeiro» (2021). He was president of the Portuguese Anthropology Association (APA) and director of the journal «Análise Social».
Associate Professor and President of the Pedagogical Council of the Nova School of Business and Economics at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She has published research in academic journals such as the «Journal of International Economics», the «Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control», the «European Economic Review and the Economics of Education Review». She is the coordinator of the project «Determinants of school effectiveness: learning from the microdata of the Portuguese education system» with FCT funding under the 2014 call for scientific research projects. Previously, she had also coordinated the project «Efficiency of the education system and the evaluation and accountability system», also funded by the FCT.
She has a degree and PhD in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
