Ana Cristina Pereira
A journalist at the Público newspaper since 1999, she writes about human rights and social exclusion, such as poverty, gender, the protection of children and young people, ageing, domestic violence, drugs, equality and social protection policies. She has written the books «Nobody’s Boys» (2009), «White Travels» (2011), «Perpetual Motion» (2016) and «Women of my Island, Women of my Country» (2022). Her volunteer work resulted in the books «Challenges – the Rights of Women in Guinea-Bissau» (2012), which she co-wrote with Nelson Constantino Lopes, and «Women of São Tomé and Príncipe» (2018), which she co-wrote with Dário Pequeno Paraíso. She has written two documentary plays: «Where the Cold Lingers» (2016) and «It’s Different Now» (2019).

Assistant professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, and researcher at the Centre for Management Studies at IST (CEGIST).
Although he trained as an engineer, his research focuses primarily on labour economics, particularly the relationship between technological innovation, human capital and employment. His interests also extend to entrepreneurship, especially from an occupational choice perspective.
His academic work has been published in Research Policy, Small Business Economics and the International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of CEGIST.

British economist and Professor of Economics at the London Business School, his research focuses on the impact of longevity on the economy.
He has been Lecturer at Oxford University, Visiting Professor at Harvard University and Researcher at the London School of Economics.
He has published several books, including «The 100-year Life», co-authored with Lynda Gratton, on what it will be like to live and work in the age of longevity.

Chief Economist at the macroeconomic research firm Talking Heads, which he founded in 2016, where he analyses global macroeconomic issues and financial markets.
Previously, he was Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he led the global economics team. Before joining Morgan Stanley, he was Professor at George Washington University and the State University of New York. He holds a PhD in Economics from George Washington University and a Masters in Finance from the London Business School.

Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and Researcher at the Centre for Business and Economic Research (CeBER).
Her research focuses on economic growth, human capital, innovation and applied econometrics.
She has participated in projects funded by the European Commission and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
She holds a PhD, a master's and a degree in economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra. She is currently Vice-Director of CeBER.

She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Studies at NOVA FCSH and Visiting Professor at NOVA Information Management School.
She holds a PhD in history and coordinates three postgraduate courses: Strategic and Security Studies (NOVA and IDN-MDN partnership); Globalization, Diplomacy and Security (NOVA, IDi-MNE and IUM-Armed Forces General Staff-MDN partnership); and Information and Security Management (NOVA, IDN-MDN and SIRP-PCM partnership).
She is a board member of IPRI-NOVA, where she coordinates the Foresight and Strategic Planning area and is also a member of several national and international associations for demographic studies and international relations.

A writer and journalist specialising in the environment, he has been researching climate change and responsiveness to a rapidly changing environment for ProPublica, an independent investigative journalism newsroom in New York, which collaborates with the New York Times Magazine.
He is a 2022 Emerson Collective Fellow at New America and has received a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to write his next book on climate migration. He also teaches narrative writing on climate change at the University of California, Berkeley.
His most recent research includes a three-part series on global climate migration, an analysis of the global palm oil trade, the climatic factors behind pandemics and how climate change is evidencing a global water shortage. Another of his series on the causes of water scarcity in the American West, «Killing the Colorado», was a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize and received the top honour from the National Academy of Sciences.

He was born in Espinho, Vila Nova de Gaia in 1963. He has been a journalist since 1986 and writes and presents several programmes on SIC, TV Cine and RTP. He was deputy director of RTP 3. In addition to television, he works with several newspapers and magazines and is a radio chronicler, having spent much of his career working in the dissemination and analysis of cinema. He was the founder of SIC and he made several documentaries and wrote scripts for television. He works at RTP full time. He is the author of several film books, «Rear Window» and «As If It Were A Novel», as well as biographies of actors such as Charlie Chaplin and Philip Seymor Hoffman.

Jacinto Lucas Pires
He writes novels, short stories, plays, films and music. He published «Doctor Sick» (Edições Húmus) in 2021, a collection of short stories. Also in 2021, the Largo School put on his play, «Prophecy of the Beginning of the World», staged by Marcos Barbosa.
He won the Europa-David Mourão-Ferreira Award (Univ. Bari/ IC, 2008) and the DST 2013 Grand Prize for Literature (with the novel «The True Actor»).

He has a degree in religious sciences from the Faculty of Theology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). He was a member of the Economic and Social Council. He is a member of the Social Council of the Faculty of Economics and Business Science of Universidade Lusíada. He has served as President of Cáritas Portuguesa and is currently President of the Portuguese Volunteer Confederation. He is a member of the Council of Orders of Civil Merit of the Presidency of the Republic.
