Bio
Sociologist, PhD in Social Sciences, specialising in Development Sociology. He is an associate professor at the University of the Azores and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences (CICS.Nova.UAçores and CICS.UAc). His research focuses on the themes of poverty, the RSI and child poverty, among others. He is director of the Master's degree in Social Policies and Regional Dynamics and co-coordinator of the Poverty, Social Exclusion and Social Policies section of the Portuguese Sociological Association. He works with the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) and was a co-author of the Regional Strategy to Combat Poverty in the Azores. He is a member of the region's Economic and Social Council.
