Coordinator of the Office of Economic, Business and Public Policy Studies (G3E2P) at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP), where he obtained his PhD in economic growth.
He has taught at the Lusíada University of Porto and was a senior researcher in the research offices of the AEP – Portuguese Business Association (1999-2011; 2013-2023) and the CIP – Confederation of Portuguese Business Confederation (2011-2013).
He has published articles in national and international scientific journals on economic policy, public finance, institutions, the informal economy and natural resources.
