Social Affairs

Sociologist, director of the Transversal Skills Laboratory (LCT-Iscte) and assistant professor at Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon, School of Sociology and Public Policy.
She is an integrated researcher and member of the Scientific Committee of CIES-Iscte; coordinator of the Inequalities, Work and Well-Being research group at CIES-Iscte; and a member of the Inequalities Observatory.
Throughout her career she has participated in project teams and scientific consultations on specifically sociological topics, such as social classes and social inequalities; characterisation of the living conditions and value orientations of higher education students; social change and lifestyles; ageing; well-being; the role of the State in promoting equity, among others.
She is CIES-Iscte's representative on the ESS/European Social Survey and a member of the Eurostudent research team.

A journalist, he has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the School of Communication and Media Studies and a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Nova School of Social Sciences and Humanities in Lisbon.
He has been writing for the Observador since 2016. In 2017, he won the Dom Manuel Falcão Prize for Journalism, which distinguishes works on religious topics. He was one of the authors of a series of investigative reports on sexual abuse in the Catholic Church in Portugal, published in 2019 and won several journalism awards, including the Gazeta Multimedia Prize.
He is the author of the book «Rome, We Have a Problem. How the Catholic Church dealt with Two Thousand Years of Sexual Abuse» (Tinta-da-China, 2021).
He was born in Leiria in 1995.

Assistant professor at NOVA FCSH and researcher at IPRI-NOVA. She has a PhD in International Relations (2014) from NOVA FCSH. She was visiting fellow at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Rio de Janeiro) In 2012. Her research focuses on the analysis of foreign policy, Portuguese and Brazilian foreign policy, relations with the European Union and regional powers. She is editor of the magazine «International Relations» at IPRI-NOVA.

President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality since October 2020, after leaving her post as Director-General of the Directorate-General for Employment and Labour Relations (2018-2020).
Between 2010 and 2014, she chaired the Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment.
She completed a postgraduate course in labour law and legislation techniques and a law degree.

He has a PhD in Social Psychology and a Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology. He is an associate professor with aggregation and coordinator of the Master's degree course in Cognitive and Social Psychology at the University of Lisbon School of Psychology. His areas of research focus on social cognition and judgement and decision-making.
