In 1974, we missed a golden opportunity for school reform. In any case, I still think that if we want decent public schools, we must fight for a fairer society. If everything stays as it is, the schools for the poor will inevitably become ghettos that it is difficult to get out of and those of the rich will be aquariums where the children only see one part of the world. I still believe that if public schools are good, the children of the poor will, to a certain extent, be able to escape from the cycle of poverty they are stuck in. Without giving in to «easy solutions», a term that was born with democracy.
