He is a professor in the Mathematics Department at the University of Lisbon School of Sciences and vice-president of the European Mathematical Society, the first Portuguese person to hold this position. He got his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Lisbon School of Sciences in 1986, completed his Master's degree in Mathematics at Instituto Superior Técnico in 1991 and got his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Warwick in 1995. He chaired the Portuguese Mathematical Society, wrote several scientific articles and books and received the Rómulo de Carvalho Research and Disclosure Award.

He got his PhD in Economics from the University of Leicester College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities and his Master’s degree in Historical Sociology and Economics from Nova University Lisbon. He was a member of the Portuguese parliament, vice-president of the Committee on Budget, Finance and Administrative Modernisation and member of the Ad Hoc Committee for Strengthening Transparency in the Exercise of Public Duties. He is a visiting researcher at several foreign universities: U. Van Amsterdam (Netherlands), London School of Economics and Leicester University (UK), Turku (Finland) New York and Yale Universities (USA).

Fátima Barros owns a PhD and a Master's Degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium (European Doctoral Programme in Quantitative Economics). Since 1992, she has been a Professor at the CATOLICA LISBON School of Business & Economics, where she also obtained her bachelor's degree in Economics, in 1986. She has several published works in the fields of competition, regulation and strategy in top international scientific journals.
She was the Director of CATOLICA LISBON between 2004 and 2012, and Deputy Director between 2001 and 2004. While holding the position of Director of the Faculty, she was invited to join the Directors' Boards of many institutions linked with university education in Europe and the USA; and was member of several Advisory Boards of Business Schools in France, England and Switzerland.
She is currently a non-executive director at BRISA Concessão Rodoviária and Banco BPI, where she is also Chair of the Audit Committee.
Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation since November 2025. Trustee of the Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos from 2024 until november 2025, she was a non-executive director between 2017 and 2023.

Jean Monnet Professor of European Integration, Professor of International Relations and Political Science at Boston University and Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Europe at Boston University. Her research focuses on European political economy, institutions, democracy and political theory. Her most recent books include «Resilient Liberalism in Europe's Political Economy» (co-editor, 2013), «Debating Political Identity and Legitimacy in the European Union» (co-editor, 2011), «Democracy in Europe» (2006) – named by the European Parliament as one of the «100 Books on Europe to Remember» in 2015 – and The «Futures of European Capitalism» (2002). Recent honours, awards, scholarships and grants include an honorary doctorate from the Free University of Brussels (ULB), the Belgian Franqui Interuniversity Presidency for foreign academics, a research grant from the European Commission (DG ECFIN) and the HORIZON 2020 grant from the European Commission: (ENLIGHTEN: «European Legitimacy in Governing through Hard Times: The Role of European Networks» – as Lead Researcher at the Free University of Brussels).

A Canadian-born, naturalised American psychologist and linguist, he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Experimental Psychology at McGill University before moving to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1976, where he has spent most of his career. He received his doctorate from Harvard University in 1979 and was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at MIT. He then became Assistant Professor at Harvard before returning to MIT a year later. He left MIT in 2003 after accepting a teaching position at Harvard, where he remains a member of the Psychology Department with the title of Johnstone Family Professor. He was also Assistant Professor at Stanford University. Striving to clarify his theses and make them accessible to a general public, he has published books such as «The Language Instinct», «How the Mind Works», «The Blank Slate: The Modern Denial of Human Nature», «The Stuff of Thought: Language as a Window into Human Nature» and «The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined». One of this evolutionary psychologist's latest books is entitled «The Sense of Style: The Thinking Person's Guide to Writing in the 21st Century», in which he argues that, despite all the conflicts currently ongoing in today's world, there has never been a better time to be alive. Named «Humanist of the Year» and Honorary President of the Canadian Psychological Association, Foreign Policy magazine included him in its list of the 100 greatest intellectuals in the USA and Time in its list of the Most Influential People in the World Today. He is a regular contributor to various publications, such as The New York Times, The Guardian, Time and The Atlantic. His tenth book, «The Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism and Progress», was released in 2018 and has been published in Portugal.

Social psychologist, principal investigator at the University of Lisbon Institute of Social Sciences (ICS-UL) and visiting professor at the School of Psychology, also in that university. He has a PhD in Social Psychology from ISCTE – IUL (2009) and did his postdoctoral studies in the Netherlands and Lisbon (ICS-UL).
He was president of the Portuguese Psychology Association (APP) between 2021 and 2023.
His research focuses on intergroup relations and socially relevant decisions for low-status groups.
He has published works in magazines such as the «European Journal of Social Psychology» and «Frontiers in Psychology».

Born in 1973, he has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a PhD in History of Ideas from FCSH-UNL. Besides working with Portuguese media, he has been a professor and a researcher and currently works as a political consultant. He directed the INCM Prelo magazine (3rd series) from 2005 to 2009 and published several books, such as «Extemporaneous Portugal» (2 vols, 2005). Recently, he wrote several entries in the «Dictionary of the History of Portugal» on the 1974-1976 period.

He graduated in social communication from the Catholic University and began his career as a journalist at «Jornal de Letras». He has worked as a scriptwriter since 1998. He was a founding member of «Gato Fedorento» along with Miguel Góis, Zé Diogo Quintela and Tiago Dores. He writes weekly for «Visão» magazine, the Brazilian daily «Folha de S. Paulo» and is one of the members of the TSF/TVI24 programmme «Shadow Government». He is the author and presenter of the SIC programme «This Is Making Fun of People Who Work».

She has been Editor of International News and European News programmes at SIC Portugal since 2001. Between 1992 and 1997, she was primarily based in Paris and London, working for a range of organisations including Agence France Presse, le Nouvel Observateur, the BBC and CNN's European Center. From 1997 to 2000, she was a journalist at RTP Portugal. She is currently Editor of the European business programme The Europeans.
