Bio
Philippe Martin (1966-2023) was the dean of the school of public affairs at Sciences Po and professor at the department of economics. He was vice president and research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). From 2018 to 2022, Martin was chairman of the Council of Economic Analysis attached to the prime minister and the minister of economy and finance. From 2015 to 2016, he was the economic advisor to Emmanuel Macron, minister of economy, industry and digital affairs. From 2008 to 2013, he served as the chair of the economics department at Sciences Po and from 2000 to 2008 he was also a professor at the Paris School of Economics as well as at the Graduate Institute in Geneva. Before that, Martin worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He is a graduate of Sciences Po, the University of Paris-Dauphine and holds a PhD in economics from Georgetown University, Washington DC.
