Don Tapscott: Blockchain is not that simple

29 min
Watch episode

What is Blockchain? What potential does Web 3.0 have? What impact are new technologies and artificial intelligence already having on our societies? To answer these questions, Pedro Pinto interviews Don Tapscott, one of the world's leading authorities on the impact of technology on modern societies, in this episode of «It's Not That Simple».

Tapscott is co-founder and executive chairman of the Blockchain Research Institute. He is also an adjunct professor at INSEAD and Chancellor Emeritus of Trent University in Ontario, where he served as Chancellor between 2013 and 2019.

In this episode, the Canadian expert describes what he calls the «second era of the digital age», and the role that Blockchain technology plays in it. He also discusses the potential of Web 3.0, in which we will be able to own and monetise  our own data. The writer analyse the current state of artificial intelligence as a form of generative AI, as well as the impact of the internet and modern technology on our societies.

Measuring risks and threats, Tapscott defends the need for a «social contract» for the digital age, in a fascinating conversation.
