Portugal, a Historical Profile
No. 69 NOVEMBER 2016
This essay analyses the dynamics of the invention of and theme for the identity of the Portuguese as a people, community and nation by some of the intellectuals who most decisively marked the meaning and positioning of this course. It is a question of critically setting paths where the stages of the historical consciousness of a people are inscribed, thus equating it in the dynamic context of successive reinvention of oneself, showing the lines of continuity, the dramas of alternatives, the opposition or coordination between enriching differences and the options for different paths that we were able to imagine.
