She is an associate professor at the University of Porto School of Psychology and Education Sciences, where she works in the area of Sociology of Education and Research Methodologies in Education. She is an integrated member of the Centre for Educational Research and Intervention (CIIE), coordinating the Community of Research Practice on Youth, Education, Diversity and Innovation. Her research focuses on inclusion, diversity and youth, young people from rural and border regions. She is «convenor» at the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER), director of the magazine «Education, Society & Cultures», vice-president of the Portuguese Society of Education Sciences and an expert at the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
