Biologist, PhD and Aggregate in Environmental Sciences from Nova University Lisbon. A pioneer in microplastics research, she is a participant in several groups of experts, both national and international, in the assessment of Ocean pollution by marine litter and microplastics, and has coordinated several projects. Founder and president of the Portuguese Marine Litter Association, she promotes and works on science dissemination and communication activities for society.
