Jorge Pereira da Silva
He is professor of Fundamentals of Public Law and Fundamental Rights at the Católica Lisbon School of Law, where he was director between 2014 and 2022. He is a Bachelor’s degree, Master's degree and PhD from the same university.
He is an integrated member of the Catholic Research Centre for the Future of Law and he has done research on intergenerational justice and, more recently, on digital economy regulation, data protection and artificial intelligence.
Advisor to the Representative of the Republic for the Autonomous Region of the Azores and Jurisconsult.

João Paiva
He has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Aveiro and an aggregate degree in Teaching from the same university. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Chemistry and Biochemistry department at the University of Porto School of Sciences. He is the coordinator of the "Scientific Culture, Multimedia and Education" research group at the University of Porto Chemistry Research Centre (CIQUP). He is director of the PhD course "Teaching and Dissemination of Science". He has published, several articles in national and international journals, alone or in co-authorship, on Physics, Chemistry, Teaching, Technologies and other subjects. He has taken part in the release of 36 books, as well as computer programmes and websites for teaching, mainly in the field of chemistry.

He holds a Master's degree in Network and Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Porto School of Sciences. When this work was being done, he was a researcher at CRACS-INESC TEC. His research interests are data and communications security and computer systems.

Joana Torres
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Porto School of Sciences. As science communication and dissemination is one of her main interests, she has been working on a number of projects in this area since 2008, at institutions such as the University of Porto, the Porto Social Foundation, CIBIO-InBIO and, currently, at the University of Porto Museum of Natural History and Science.

Joana Lobo Antunes
Science communicator. Currently in charge of communication at the Instituto Superior Técnico and Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities on the Master's Degree in Science Communication. She is also one of the coordinators of the radio programme 90 Seconds of Science. She was in charge of the Communication Office at the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology ITQB NOVA, Director of the Live Science Centre in Sintra and Post-Doctoral Researcher in Promotion and Administration of Science and Technology at FCSH and ITQB NOVA.

Hugo Carvalho
Hugo Carvalho is an engineer and has built his career in the areas of innovation and technology, more recently venturing into the field of artificial intelligence. He was a member of the Portuguese parliament between 2019 and 2024. On the invitation of the government, he led the Taskforce for Licensing Renewable Energy Projects (EMER 2030). He was President of the Portuguese National Youth Council and a member of the Social and Economic Council and of the National Board of Education.

Fernando Silva
PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, UK (1983). Since 2012, he has been a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science (DCC) at the University of Porto School of Sciences (FCUP). He was Vice-Rector of the University of Porto with responsibility for the Digital University, Quality and Continuous Improvement. In 2007, he founded and led CRACS, an FCT unit rated Very Good, until 2018, becoming an integrated unit of INESC TEC in 2014. He has led the Authenticus project since 2010.

Susana Peralta
A specialist in Political Economy and Public Economics, she got her PhD in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. She has been an associate professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) since 2004, where she was academic director of the doctoral and Master’s programmes in Economics. She has also taught at the Catholic University of Portugal, the University of Luxembourg and the Catholic University of Louvain. She is an associate researcher at CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research) and CORE (Centre for Operations Research and Econometrics) at the Catholic University of Louvain.
Between 2014 and 2017, she was an economic consultant at Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos.

Sylwia Bugla
She holds a Master's degree in Network and Computer Systems Engineering and is a researcher and senior programmer at CRACS-INESC TEC. Her research interests range from bibliographic databases, academic publishing, entity identification and matching algorithms. She works on the Authenticus project (a system that automatically associates scientific publications with their researchers and institutions in Portugal).

Ester Serrão
Associate professor at the University of the Algarve and member of the board of the Algarve Marine Science Centre (CCMAR). She coordinates a scientific team at CCMAR that studies patterns and processes that determine the genetic diversity, ecology and evolution of marine populations at global biogeographic scales. Her research includes environmental and functional genomics in response to environmental and climate change, and diverse marine systems, from microorganisms to giant kelp forests. She has more than 200 indexed scientific publications, coordinates national, European and international projects and was named a "Pew Marine Fellow" by the Pew Foundation in the USA for her work in marine conservation. She is a member of the coordination committee for two Master’s degrees and two PhD course and has supervised 16 PhD students and 36 Master’s theses.
