Actress. She won the award for Best Secondary Actress at the Sophia Awards, in 2024, for her role in the film ‘Mal Viver’, directed by João Canijo.
She appeared in the film ‘Ramiro’, by Manuel Mozos, in ‘Pôr do Sol: O Mistério do Colar de São Cajó’, by Manuel Pureza, and in several TVI, SIC and RTP1 soap operas.

Director of Civitta Portugal (formerly Gestluz Consultores). He is president of Invicta Angels - the Northern Association of Early-Stage Investors - of which he was a founder. He is also a business strategy and management consultant.
He was executive director of Instituição Financeira de Desenvolvimento (now BPF) between 2015 and 2017, and co-founded the National Federation of Business Angels Associations in 2007.
He has a degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of Porto and a master's degree in Design for Sustainability from Cranfield University, UK, and a postgraduate qualification in Political Journalism from the Catholic University.

Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto's School of Education, in the area of Pedagogical Supervision, and coordinator of the master's programme in Pre-School Education and Primary School Teaching.
She was honoured with the ‘Global Teacher Prize Portugal 2020’ (3rd edition), an award internationally considered to be the ‘nobel of education’. She was in the TOP 50 of the Global Teacher Prize worldwide in 2021.
Since October 2016, she has been the mentor and national coordinator of COOPERA, a pedagogical intervention and innovation project.
She has a PhD in Education and Human Development from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), a degree in Education Sciences from FPCEUP (Porto) and a bachelor's degree in Primary School Teachers (1st Cycle) from ISEC (Lisbon). She is currently doing a post-doctorate in Education Sciences, specialising in Pedagogical Practice and Research and Didactics, at UTAD (Vila Real).

She held professorships at Bocconi University, Oxford University, Free University (VU) Amsterdam and visiting posts at UCLA.
A specialist in European politics, she has published several books, one of which was considered one of the five best books on the future of Europe by the Financial Times.
She is a member of the European Integration Committee of the Dutch Advisory Council for Foreign Affairs and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.

Her research interests include European history and politics, the development of democracy, populism and fascism and the history of the left. She writes on these topics for a wide variety of academic and non-academic publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs and VOX. She is currently on the boards of the Journal of Democracy, Dissent and Political Science Quarterly.
