As a Professor at the University of Coimbra School of Psychology and Education Sciences, her research areas have been Early Childhood Education, particularly the training of early childhood educators on the Incredible Years – Teacher Classroom Management programme, and family relationships.

She graduated summa cum laude from Boston University and holds three Master’s degrees and a PhD in political science from the University of Rochester. She is the founder of the Centre for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO), Stanford University, which is dedicated to studying education reform efforts across the country. CREDO's mission is to increase the impact of educational innovations on student achievement in public primary and secondary schools. Its mantra is "Let the data speak for itself.

Pedro Góis
He holds a PhD, a Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Coimbra. Between 1998 and 2015, he was Lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
Since 2015, he has been Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra. He is also Permanent Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, where he has dedicated himself to researching international migration.
He also collaborates with various national and international agencies and institutions, such as the International Organisation for Migration, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the European Migration Network.
He has published over 100 articles and books on emigration and immigration in Portugal and Europe. In his most recent work, «Common Home» (2019), Pedro Góis notes that «migration flows to Portugal produce positive effects, mitigating, in the short term, the consequences of population ageing and decline» yet requiring long-term demographic planning, which has yet to be done.

She is Rector of Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, where she headed the Scientific Council and Researcher at Iscte’s Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte).
She was Minister of Education between 2005 and 2009 and chaired the Board of Directors of the Luso-American Development Foundation between 2010 and 2013.
She chaired the Science and Technology Observatory of the Ministry of Science and Technology. She has published several works, especially on the sociology of professions, information society and public policy.

Luís Catela Nunes holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. He is full professor at Nova School of Business and Economics, where he served as chair of the pedagogical council, deputy director for research and coordinator of its research unit.
He is currently a member of the advisory board of EDULOG — an educational think tank from the Fundação Belmiro de Azevedo —, as well as co-scientific director of the Economics of Education Knowledge Centre at Nova School of Business and Economics, where he has coordinated several projects, including «Does Grade Retention Help?», «The Impact of Teachers on Student Learning», «Inclusion and Discrimination of Immigrant Students» and «Diagnosis of Teaching Needs».
His research has been published in several international scientific journals.

Founder and CEO of the communications company Empower Sports and presenter on the Eleven Sports channel. He began his career at RTP, later working for CNN (in the US and later as a correspondent in London), Sport TV and UEFA. He has also worked with FIFA and the Portuguese Football Federation.
