Raquel Vaz-Pinto
Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI) at Nova University Lisbon and invited associate professor at the Nova School of Social and Human Sciences, where she teaches Asian Studies and History of International Relations.
She chaired the Portuguese Association of Political Science (2012-2016) and was a consultant to the Board of Directors of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2020-2022).
Author of several articles and books including «The Great Wall and the Legacy of Tiananmen, China and Human Rights» (Tinta-da-China) and «The Portuguese and the World» (Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos). She also wrote the introduction to the new translation of George Orwell's «Nineteen Eighty-Four» (Penguin).
She teamed up with Pedro Vieira for the podcast – [Ir] Relevant Politics, for Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, and the duo currently do the monthly podcast «Eleanor's Friends», for the Luso-American Development Foundation, with stories about extraordinary women, centered on the figure of Eleanor Roosevelt.
She is a resident international policy analyst on SIC Notícias.

He was born in Porto in 1982. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Coimbra and a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Porto. He has a PhD in Digital Media (UT Austin | Portugal) from the University of Porto. He has taken part in several projects on the educational integration of digital media. He has published works on the subjects of digital media and science teaching in a number of national and international forums and journals.

Professora Emérita do departamento de Educação Especial da Southern Connecticut State University em New Haven CT. Doutorou-se em Psicologia Cognitiva pela Universidade de Yale em 1989. Os seus principais interesses de investigação envolvem o desenvolvimento da alfabetização de crianças até 12º ano de escolaridade; tipos comuns de dificuldades de alfabetização; e a base de conhecimento e preparação dos professores para o ensino da leitura.Professor Emeritus in the Department of Special Education at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT. She got her PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Yale University in 1989. Her primary research interests involve the literacy development of children up to Year 12; common types of literacy difficulties; and the knowledge base and preparation of teachers for teaching reading.

Rui Afonso Mateus
Professor. He has a PhD in Portuguese Language Literature, in the field of Research and Teaching, from the University of Coimbra School of Arts and Humanities, with the thesis "Fundamentals and practices of adapting literary classics for young readers". He wrote the study "The reception of Camões in the Portuguese Baroque. The case of Estevão Rodrigues de Castro", published by INCM in 2011.

Full Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Minho Institute of Education. He got his PhD in Psychology, specialising in Educational Psychology, from the University of Porto in 1987, and took the Aggregation Tests in Psychology at the University of Minho in 1994. In preparation for his PhD, he did internships at Yale University (USA) and the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). He is a member of several national and international scientific associations and has been a director of several of them. He was President of the National Board of the Association of Portuguese Psychologists (APPORT). Member of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists and President of the Specialisation Council for Educational Psychology. Member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Educational Innovation (Ministry of Education). He was part of the Committee for the External Assessment of Teaching Degree Courses in the area of Arts and Humanities (2001/02). He was a member of the National Education Council (2002/05), coordinating the fifth Committee. He was a consultant for the Regional Government of Madeira in defining studies and programmes to identify and support gifted students. He received the Scientific Merit Award from the University of Minho in 2019.

As well as having published studies on canonical authors (Gil Vicente, Camões, Mário de Sá Carneiro and Miguel Torga), he has devoted himself to the problems of teaching literature, especially as a member of the National Education Council.

He has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Aveiro and an aggregate degree in Teaching from the same university. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Chemistry and Biochemistry department at the University of Porto School of Sciences. He is the coordinator of the "Scientific Culture, Multimedia and Education" research group at the University of Porto Chemistry Research Centre (CIQUP). He is director of the PhD course "Teaching and Dissemination of Science". He has published, several articles in national and international journals, alone or in co-authorship, on Physics, Chemistry, Teaching, Technologies and other subjects. He has taken part in the release of 36 books, as well as computer programmes and websites for teaching, mainly in the field of chemistry.

Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology at the University of Minho School of Psychology. Between 1987 and 1995, he was a Professor at the Porto Polytechnic School of Education. Since 1995, he has been a professor at the University of Minho. His main areas of interest, research and service to the community are: Learning Problems, Behavioural Problems, Teaching Problems, Classroom Organisation and Management, Teaching Reading and Writing, Indiscipline in the Classroom and Mistreatment in Childhood and Adolescence.
