Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Coimbra School of Economics and researcher at the Centre for Social Studies. She has a PhD in Sociology from Lancaster University. She is a board member of EMES – International Research Network. Her research has focused on the tertiary sector and social policies, governance through local partnerships, social entrepreneurship and social innovation in the social and solidarity economy and social enterprises. In 2021, she coordinated the book "Institutional Trajectories and Models of Social Enterprise in Portugal", by the Centre for Social Studies.

Margarida Afonso
A lecturer at the Castelo Branco School of Education, she holds a PhD in Science Teaching from the University of Lisbon School of Sciences. Much of her career has been directed towards the education of children and young people and the training of kindergarten and primary school teachers, with particular attention to the problem of social inequalities and their implications for children's academic success and overall development. She has done several projects and has worked with institutions such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Agência Nacional Ciência Viva.

Journalist, television newsreader and Deputy Director of RTP. With a degree in sociology, he began his professional career in 1989 at Rádio Comercial and worked for Antena 1 and TSF, before moving to television two years later. He became an anchor at RTP and presented various news programmes. He moved to SIC between 2000 and 2001 before returning to RTP, where he became Deputy Director of Information and Deputy Director of RTPN. He spent half a year heading up information for the new Channel 11 before once more returning to RTP.

Analyst/researcher at the Centre for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO), Stanford University, since 2011.
He has experience in statistical programming, data analysis and evaluation of education programmes related to student performance and education policy.
He got his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Asmara, Eritrea in 2002 and holds a Master's degree in Evaluation and Development Management from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He has been responsible for managing and evaluating projects for institutions such as the World Bank, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the European Commission.

Researcher Coordinator at the University of Lisbon Institute of Social Sciences. He got a PhD in Political Science from Ohio State University in 2003. His research interests include public opinion, elections and the relationship between justice and politics. His work has appeared in academic journals such as the "American Journal of Political Science", "Comparative Political Studies", the "European Journal of Political Research", "Political Research Quarterly", "West European Politics" and "Experimental Economics", to name but a few.
