Bill Mckibben: Climate change is not that simple

28 min
Watch episode

The effects of climate change can be witnessed in the huge fires and floods currently ravaging the planet «We've increased the earth's temperature by over 1° Celsius. That's enough to cause massive changes», explains American environmentalist Bill McKibben.

«Transitioning away from coal, gas and oil is probably going to be the biggest task ever undertaken by humanity,» he argues in this interview, where he discusses the current state of health of the planet.

McKibben also examines the role of governments and private companies in combating climate change and its consequences, as well as analysing what powers like China and the US are - and are not - doing to respond to these challenges.

Furthermore, he explores how the lobbying power of fossil fuel industry interest groups has exacerbated the climate crisis.

«It's Not That Simple» brings you today's big issues, simplified by leading experts.

Because in a time of dizzying information, sometimes you have to pause before you can understand. Because not everything is that simple.
