He holds a Master's degree in Network and Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Porto School of Sciences (2015). He is attached to the Centre for Advanced Computing Systems (CRACS-INESC TEC) and worked on the Authenticus project. He received a scholarship under the PhD programme in Computer Science. Her thesis focuses on the use of bibliographic networks to address the problem associated with creating a scientific profile for researchers, as well as the development of author rankings in bibliographic databases.
He holds a Master's degree in Network and Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Porto School of Sciences. When this work was being done, he was a researcher at CRACS-INESC TEC. His research interests are data and communications security and computer systems.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Porto School of Sciences. As science communication and dissemination is one of her main interests, she has been working on a number of projects in this area since 2008, at institutions such as the University of Porto, the Porto Social Foundation, CIBIO-InBIO and, currently, at the University of Porto Museum of Natural History and Science.
PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, UK (1983). Since 2012, he has been a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science (DCC) at the University of Porto School of Sciences (FCUP). He was Vice-Rector of the University of Porto with responsibility for the Digital University, Quality and Continuous Improvement. In 2007, he founded and led CRACS, an FCT unit rated Very Good, until 2018, becoming an integrated unit of INESC TEC in 2014. He has led the Authenticus project since 2010.
She holds a Master's degree in Network and Computer Systems Engineering and is a researcher and senior programmer at CRACS-INESC TEC. Her research interests range from bibliographic databases, academic publishing, entity identification and matching algorithms. She works on the Authenticus project (a system that automatically associates scientific publications with their researchers and institutions in Portugal).
Associate professor at the University of the Algarve and member of the board of the Algarve Marine Science Centre (CCMAR). She coordinates a scientific team at CCMAR that studies patterns and processes that determine the genetic diversity, ecology and evolution of marine populations at global biogeographic scales. Her research includes environmental and functional genomics in response to environmental and climate change, and diverse marine systems, from microorganisms to giant kelp forests. She has more than 200 indexed scientific publications, coordinates national, European and international projects and was named a "Pew Marine Fellow" by the Pew Foundation in the USA for her work in marine conservation. She is a member of the coordination committee for two Master’s degrees and two PhD course and has supervised 16 PhD students and 36 Master’s theses.
She holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management and is a researcher at CIBIO. Her research interests focus on bibliometrics and scientometrics, particularly the use of bibliometric techniques as a decision support tool in peer review and, more recently, the influence of funding models, autonomy and political instruments on the production of scientific knowledge.
He holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Goethe University in Germany and he is a full professor of Physics at the University of Coimbra (UC), where he has held various management positions. He founded and directed the Centre for Computational Physics, where he installed the largest and fastest Portuguese supercomputer for scientific calculation. He is the director of UC's Rómulo Ciência Viva Centre and one of Portugal's most important science communicators, with books, textbooks and hundreds of articles published. He has lectured at universities in Brazil and the USA and he was scientific coordinator of the "Knowledge" area of Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos and a member of the Scientific Council of the Foundation for Science and Technology. He chaired the regional board of the Portuguese Physics Society, through which he promoted scientific experimentation activities for school laboratories, created the "Mocho" portal for teaching and promoting science and was a consultant for television programmes. He is a member of the International Forum of Portuguese Researchers. Distinguished with the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator and the Golden Globe for Merit and Excellence in Science (2005), he also received the Ciência Viva Grand Prize (2017) and the José Mariano Gago Award from SPA (2018).
Researcher in Data Science at Stratified Medical. Former Professor at ISEP – Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto. PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Coimbra.
